After God created man, he made a very compassionate observation. He knew that we would not thrive alone:
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make a helper fit for him.” Gen. 2:18.
Be very careful not to interpret the word helper as servant or any other lesser status than the man, because the Bible doesn’t use the word in that sense at all.
After doing a little Hebrew word study I think you will agree that to be designated as “helper” is an honor that conveys enormous value on the woman. In fact, the Bible uses the identical word translated “help” or “helper” (‘ezer - Strong’s 5828) to refer to God and his divine intervention to help us, as demonstrated here:
“We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield.” Ps. 33:20.
____
“But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. Ps. 146:5 NLT.
____
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1 (NLT)
____
9 O Israel, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield. 10 O priests, descendants of Aaron, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield. 11 All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield. Psalm 115:9–11 (NLT)

7 We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! 8 Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:7–8 (NLT)
____
7 Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. 8 I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. Psalm 63:7–8 (NLT)
AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE
26 “There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor. Deuteronomy 33:26 (NLT)
There are many many more examples where these came from!
THAT RAISES THE MEANING OF “HELPER” TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!
Next time you look over at your wife, try looking at her through God’s eyes.
